Match report

Oban U18s 50 – 17 Loch Lomond

September 2, 2023

Oban Lorne U18s take to the road for the first game of the season away to Lochlomond. The pitch and the weather were going to make this a great afternoon for rugby. The two teams take to the pitch with 15 players, each looking strong physically and mentally. It wasn’t long before a darting run from the fullback Archie secured the first points. Well taken conversion from Logie. A few minutes later, it was Euan breaking through the middle of the pitch to cross the try line. Logie on conversion and points on the board. Lochlomond came back with a try at Oban’s corner. Oban’s forwards were disappointed at conceding this try. They reasserted themselves and moved through the gears, and reaped the rewards. Two tries from Jack, Finlay, and Neil Hugh are also on the score sheet. It’s time for the backs to get in on the act two from Archie and Alexander. Logie securing conversion points. Oban was dominant on the road today, with a long season to follow, the game finished 50-17. Oban wished Lochlomond all the best for the season ahead, which was returned with them due to visit Oban in November.

The winner this weekend was Youth Rugby for all our Teams!!
